Hawks and Hawk Watching

Learn about the region’s hawks, eagles, falcons and vultures that can regularly be observed in Fall migrations. Enjoy Steve’s high-quality images of each species in flight as well as technical tips on species shape, coloration and behavior that will boost your ability to identify these fabulous creatures. There will also be a discussion of some regional hawk watch sites and migration-timing data.

Steve Hale is the owner of Open Word Explorers. He holds university degrees in marine biology, evolutionary biology, and ecology. He’s lived in New Hampshire for twenty years and has explored most of the state as an avid birder, hiker and naturalist.
